Last night, I was thinking about some of the apps I've sketched out like Nostalgia, a data warehouse based picture delivery app. When I thought of the app, I was reflecting on what was most important to me these days. This is my family. I considered how forgetful I am already at my age and imagined 50 years down the road and all the things that could happen to my memory as I aged. This idea is what I came up with.
There are 2 communities with commercial viability that I can think of that an enhanced data warehouse based picture delivery application could serve.
1) A growing population of elderly who want to stage their memories, have others assist in filling in their shared memories, and having that available to them.
2) A security/intelligence community that needs an easy way of accessing and encoding people, places, and things for simple retrieval.
Since I've worked a short time on a defense project, I believe I can imagine the mindset of someone like this.
I will continue to work on such an app in my spare time along the way building it as if I were building a well thought out, well engineered engine to support commercial opportunities.
