...between Education and Catastrophe. This was one of my favorite quotes from H.G. Wells. Janet Jackson uses it in her song Rhythm Nation. There are times when we forget this. There are times when we forget the sacrifices and designs that were put into our Constitution. Sometimes the defenders of these designs are outnumbered by the corrupt. The corrupt eat at the system and make it vulnerable. As a builder of systems, I would like to look for , embrace, and help imagine the culture that builds systems that can not be corrupted by compromises to a design. A cu-ture that builds such systems must have one primary motivation...pure love.
I'm hoping that I can pour these ideas into a sample structure like Nostalgia. This is where I will take my stand and paint my masterpiece as an artist of information systems.
A bit dramatic but I am feeling a bit inspired by of all things a movie I just saw. Denzel Washington, Man On Fire. In the movie, Denzel is a lost man who finds hope in a little girl he is hired to protect. When she is kidnapped, Denzel is able to use information and his mastery of the art of war to combat the threat and all corruption in the system that let the kidnapping happen.
You should see it. Anyway, I was inspired to add another more idea to the model of systems development culture that I want to promote. Enough of these ideas in one place and I have a platform that I can rally followers too, huh? All I need is that killer app built that opens people's eyes that you don't need millions of dollars to change the world. You just have to know how it works and with all you skill and imagination define and practice a culture / process that you believe will work better.
