I'm getting to the point where I'm past 10 years into my career, 4 years from graduating with my Masters degree, and finished, I think, with having children. I'm onto the job of raising kids and looking for the right next steps. A few of my friends are at this stage thinking about an MBA. It's a valid path to take. For me, I'd really need to justify the money it would cost. Right now, I am content to fill in content on this website and build some side software projects with some character. I may feel different a year from now. If I had an opportunity to go to a top school like Wharton, I think I would take it. There would need to be the promise that if I got an MBA, I'd through contacts and my own ambition be given the opportunity to help a project that had real money behind it. More than an MBA, I think I need more development of sales skills and development skills. I need to put things together that truly represent who I am. I think I need to exhaust other possibilities before I go into auto-pilot for 2 or 3 years in classrooms.
Perhaps if I built out an idea or two and was looking to test it out, this would be a good chance to go into a entrepreneurial program.
