I went to see a guy talk about Web Services and Java / Microsoft .Net interoperability techniques. There's a whole world I don't know about. The idea about any of this is that you make your applications as usable by as many devices as possible. Yours is an idea that should be shared and the word about your idea should be spread. Operating systems and other proprietary technologies should no longer imprison your idea from reaching the largest possible audience. Also, you shouldn't have to give up performance for interoperability.
There's so much I don't know about this. I plan to take the base application I built for Photo Annotation and build the web services description (wsd) for outside applications/people to interoperate with my Nostalgia application and use all the features available. These clients might come with many different interfaces and skins but they will all be using my Nostalgia service in a similar capacity.
Still wish I had someone I could work with on this. Need some new blood. Perhaps I'll hire a student for some sort of internship to work in the home office.
