I've been reflecting on the past 12 or so years of my career. I've picked out 4 things I think have contributed the most to my success. I intend to use these 4 items in a mission statement as the basis for content on this website.
Here are the 4 things I think are most important things to focus on for the long term future for my career. I plan to write a longer essay on this topic filled with my personal experiences.
- Learn how to manage time, projects, and priorities.
- Learn how to sell, to present, to tell a good story
- Innovate. Use your imagination to solve important problems.
- Make others around you better and learn from others. You can't do it alone and you don't need to make the same mistakes they may have made.
I will craft a mission statement around these 4 things. I will then pull together all the things I've been working on as side projects into a plan for a business to be launched in 2 years after I am fully vested in the stock options from my current employer.
