So I wrote a controversial blog entry last month and was surprised to see I had more than 1 or 2 readers of my blog. Hi Anne - hope you are still reading. I got rid of it and have since decided to censor my wild ravings since as Martin pointed out, my mother IS on the internet. I will focus on more constructive ideas regarding IT in America. One of the questions I ask myself every day is how will America remain a leader in IT? I had my first interview with an HCL (indian) resource last week so I am starting to form my opinions and strategies.

Speaking of my mom on the internet, I started a website for her to promote a pre-school that she opened in the Philippines. It's at www.joyandcaregivingfoundation.org.
Mom runs a growing day spa business in Palm Coast, Fl. Palm Coast coencidentally is the fastest growing city in the United States according to Business 2.0. My parents have been living there now for clost to 15 years (www.spafloridian.com). This site needs some major updating too.

I have plans to start a few other content sites once I dig myself out of figuring out my new role as Manager, Enterprise Analytics. One that my wife and I will work on has to do with Foreign Trained Dentists and what kind of role should they play in the United States. In general, the U.S. could enhance the quality of health if they could find a way to utilize these resources in some related, applicable way. It's all about better defining a work break down structure and economics and having a culture of abundance with attention to quality control rather than a culture of scarcity and protectionism. For instance, a friend volunteered with migrant farm workers from Mexico picking crops in PA. These people have a dire need for medical services. Why not let foreign trained dentists treat them?

I plan to revamp this website using my new Ruby on Rails supporting web host, TextDrive.com. I also plan to start a business model for a DSS (Decision Support Systems) consulting firm that will serve local interests by promoting open source business intelligence software from Pentaho.com. There are several folks at Pentaho that are ex-Sagent. The contents of the blog for the past 2 years will be cleaned and combined into something more refined and compact. I think there are a lot of good ideas throughout the blog. I'm sure I have a few more in me (good and bad).

Lastly, I had written another blog that got erased regarding my revamping of my personal expenditures on communications (cell, internet, phone). It was a really detailed, financial study that showed I was spending 200+ a month on these things and I figured out how to get more for less. I'll write that one again.
