I've started a whitepaper and made it available on my web page. The content is rough. I've got a lot of coherent ideas and some incoherent ones. The premise is that I am trying to blueprint structures, constructs, interactions, definitions of how culture, architecture, and operations can feed off one another. The rhetoric of the learning organization that you hear the politicians throwing around is vague and not evident in the policies and laws. The textbooks on data warehousing and decision support address architecture more than anything. This paper starts with the notion that agile decision support systems are as much a human problem as they are a systems problem.
I plan to work on the paper and revise it over and over until it is 1 piece of coherent messages. I hope to base my work life on the ideas in this paper and gauge the power of these ideas with my success and that of the readers/participants in this discourse.
The document is a living document that I will work on and reupload a little bit each night. I invite you to download the whitepaper and provide comments on this blog entry.
