Assignments for Cognitive Metaphors

1. Implement the IMCE module on the site so people can upload and post pictures on the site. - BRYAN

2. Convert my 2004 - 2007 blogs to Drupal - brute force - CRISTINA

• DO THIS FIRST SINCE YOU ARE STUCK ON RDF. I want a completed deliverable here.
• Identify and Remove all false comments - I got a lot of SPAM comments in my old blog software. Use commentLog.txt file to figure out a distinct list of commenters (first column in the file). I know only 2 or three legitimate people. Another way to weed down the lists is removing articles with more than 4 links.
• Figure out a strategy for reading text in and how to create a set of stories or blog or book articles. Comments should be tied to the original article.
• Do this in a test environment first - ask Marc to set up a dummy website for you to test this out on.
• When it works, add it to www.cognitivemetaphors.com - take a backup of cognitive metaphors first
• Working files are in
• By BRUTE FORCE, manually, open each file and create a Drupal book page for it under the Blog section of the site. I want to retain all valid comments - not the comments with tons of spam links to it.
• The blog files are on ~/public_html/cognitivemetaphors/cgi-bin/blog/Pages. You can access them through Cpanel or by downloading the tar file to your machine. Ask Marc for pointers if you can't get to it.
• Each article should be it's own blog entry with a title that consists of YYYY-MM-DD Title (first line in the article) - Any related comments should be pasted to the end of the article or as a comment

3. Afterwards, come up with a implementation plan to implement Apache Solr search on my site. After the blogs are converted, I want a way to search through them through Apache since I will have 5+ years of blogs on the site. ACQUIA.COM should have some quickstart guides  - SHEILA

4. Implement tagadelic - only need to tag a few of the artciles on the front page - SHEILA

5. Design elements from IndependentsHall.com - I like how there is a twitter stream on their front page. I like the idea as CognitiveMetaphors being a common place, a virtual co-working environment, where people can get together to do creative projects. I'd like to see if we can make the site look even more slick. - NOT ASSIGNED

The additional links google is providing come from RDFa Dries has put on his site. It enhances the way his search engine results come up. It's more attractive.

By contrast, look at my current entry. FIrst of all, I don't even come up in the first page when you search for cognitive metaphors or cognitive metaphors anthony garcia. When you search specifically for www.cognitivemetaphors.com, you get

      Cognitive Metaphors | Communities By Definition. Know How It Works.      Cognitive Metaphors offers online community building and decision support services using open source/free software like Drupal, Google Analytics, YouTube, ...

Need to improve this. I should also come up on the coginitive metaphors search in the first page.

7. Implement and actively use the Organic Groups module. - MARC

This will give us a good way to add more social networking features to my site and gives us another way to collaborate. One Group for now - Pentaho Drupal Integration

8.. Implement Views module. Make some views that list all articles related to a certain project, i.e. all articles related to the dmgjeepwilly project. - NOT ASSIGNED
