Cristina's Code Sprint Report

1. Which project you worked on.

In the event, I was teamed up with Sheila and Richmond to join the AMIHAN, National Federation of Peasant Women with Ma'am Tess. This organization takes up on womens' rights, issues on women, etc. Ma'am Tess said it was their second time to join this kind of event and they already had a site but was still ineffective and the theme that they have still needs improvement.

2. What did you contribute

To be honest, I was more of a spectator during the day. In the beginning, when we were talking with Ma'am Tess, we asked her about what she wanted for the organization's website (the theme, color, content), I was able to pop a few questions and I wrote it all down. We had a bit of trouble during the installation and that took awhile to fix. After it was resolved, Noel taught us a few basics on tweaking the site. When Noel left, J took over and had us split into smaller groups since another organization showed up and he wanted to maximize the time we have. Richmond and I were assigned to do the theme of the site, Ma'am Tess was with us so we can show her all the available themes that would match the one that she aims to have. We were able to choose one, I think the name of the theme was Activesite, its base colors were green and black. We had the idea to change it a bit because the colors that Ma'am Tess wanted were a lighter shade of green and purple. Richmond and I were able to change the color of the fonts into green and purple. I had the idea to change the bullet style of navigation menu into a flower so we did.

3. What specific Drupal skills did you learn/pick up

I learned how to add contents, content types and how to configure some of the parts of the site for example, Noel taught us how to create a News page and he showed us how the news can be arranged in descending/ascending order depending on the time. I was also able to pick up a few things on tweaking the themes.
