Some tips on how to use effective keyword tags to improve search
- Keyword Brainstorming
Do some brainstorming based on your post topic/ post title. List all kinds of possible phrases and words that you think the user can think of while searching for a particular information. Even if a particular word/ keyphrase is too general as long as it is relevant to your topic - add it!
- Review Keywords
You can use Google Adwords Keyword Matching Tool or Yahoo! Keyword generation tool to help you determine related keywords. This is useful because it suggests keywords that people are actually searching for.
- Check
Apache Solr Search generates reports (Home → Administer → Reports - (Home → Administer → Reports → Top search phrases) showing the most popular search phrases. This gives you an idea which of those tags you have used are effective.
