Discussion

I now have available to me 7 interns from UST. One is the president of the Computer Society of UST. It's 4 girls and 3 boys all with impressive student resumes.

I would like to hold an internship over the next 2 months where I give them projects. I have 1 project in mind of my own. I plan to invest $500 in their time. I will split Can you offer a starting budget for me to secure phase I? We can discuss the other phases later.

My recommendation for you is for a phased building

Phase I - $200 + registration to Bluehost.com (2 years * $4/month) gives you a website host and paopi.org name.

I will ask them to set up a website with donation buttons that highlight your mission, bethelem house of bread, Emmaus, and st martin. This will also include web analytics which you can use to see who is visiting the site. They can start as early as next week.

This can be done with 2 weeks of their time if you can provide them enough pictures and stories. I will use my investment to subsidize any overrun in their time. Consider my subsidy over your $200 as a donation.

You can organize some sort of newsletter or launch event around the launch of the site.

Phase II - $100 - Implement an online non profit organization system called CiviCrm integrated with your website. (requires the bluehost.com subscription)

CiviCRM is a freelibre and open source software constituent relationship management solution. CiviCRM is web-based, internationalized, and designed specifically to meet the needs of advocacy, non-profit and non-governmental groups. Integration with both Drupal and Joomla!content management systems gives you the tools to connect, communicate and activate your supporters and constituents.

  • civiCASE

  • Case management for clients and constituents.

  • civiEVENT

  • Online event registration and participant tracking.

  • civiMEMBER

  • Online signup and membership management.

  • civiMAIL

  • Personalized email blasts and newsletters.

  • civiREPORT

  • Report generation and template management.

Phase III - $50 - Additional social network type functionality

This would come when you are ready to have the St Martin kids participate.

- Tie your site to a Facebook fan page
- Tie your site to a Twitter feed (so many more people can here updates from the kids)
- Implement features like a calendar of events
- Research report on additional things your internet site can do to benefit your non-profit.

Subject: PAOPI WEBSITE

Hi Obet,
Please look into this link.  Do you think Anthony can do this kind of link. If he can have each of us individually set a website where our
friends/family can do the donations by clicking our individual name, this will be great.
Thanks
Norma

Please consider making  a donation (of any amount) instead,  I'm participating in AIDS Walk and haven't even begun to fundraise for it yet.

Other ideas

* Are there any programs where we can have site visitors donate their air line miles to Father Boyett so he can continue his mission to explaining his projects.

Discussion

Anthony mentioned that his mother is receiving a community service award for her work with joyandcaregivingfoundation.org by chance from Robert's wife's relative. This same relative was just made aware by Melissa of the potential that the award go to him next time for his efforts fundraising through PAOP.

Robert talked to Father Boyett about participation in any future website activity which may help the cause. This is based on the idea Anthony relayed about people wanting to maintain a personal connection with those they are helping. Robert said the same person in the Philippines who helped print his fundraising program and regularly assists Father Boyett

Anthony addressed Roberts desire to make paop@USA.org the website by verifying that USA.org is not an available address. They ruled out paopinyc.org so as to not limit the organization reach to just New York City. after checking availability, it was decided that paopi.org would be the website name.

Anthony mentioned that the next step would be to secure a hosting package for the website. Robert would need to sercure a credit card for paop's 501c3 back account.

In the mean time, Anthony is screening 7 candidate interns and will personally fund some of them to build a community for the Philippine energy market. In the meanwhile we will collect more requirements, planning, and examples for Robert tp chose from. Anthony mentioned for instance the CiviCRM software for tracking activities/interactions with donors and send mailing lists/newsletters.

Action Items
1 secure credit card for paopi bank account - Robert
2 secure webhost and web address for robert using paopi credit - Anthony
3 screen interns by Friday - Anthony

Discussion
Anthony asked Robert to talk about plans for the website. First step is to establish a web address. Robert suggested a website name he used in the fundraising program.

Robert expressed interest in an online sponsor a child. This could be done but the work is in deciding the implementation. For instance, many programs of this type specifically state that the money is put in a pool that helps all the children though the sponsor may be corresponding specifically with one child. This is a longer term phase and involves design of a sponsorship funnel that starts with browsing children to sponsor, picking one, maybe collecting an email address to facilitate the correspondence.

Robert stated that there is only petty cash level funding to support the building of a website. Anthony mentioned that web hosting through bluehost can be procured for $3-$4 per month as a introductory price for a few years. A website name costs $20/year. With regards to labor to build the site, Anthony has his nephew. We can also engage with felix's son from the Filipino grocery of si. Anthony also has possibly 8-10 University of Santo Tomas computer science intern candidates.

We will establish weekly meetings. Robert has a new laptop with webcam and Internet so skype is a possibility. Once we are comfortable with a set of requirements gathered over several meetings, we can lay out and Implementation plan. Based on available funds, we can put a time table to each phase of the project. We can go faster or slower in building the social network for effective online marketing and donation collection. Anthony also encouraged Robert to think of using information technology like matrix group.net that offers things like association management facilities.

Anthony mentioned some ideas for I improvements over his moms site, joyandcaregivingfoundation.org. First, there can be donation buttons specific to each cause rather than just one donation page. Anthony talked about getting a lot more participation from the people on the ground in digesting testimonials and diaries of those benefitting from the programs. Kuya obet said they had a laptop there and someone with the printing company able to facilitate the updates from father boyet and company.

Key factors to address:
Frequent updates and stories
Donation buttons on more than one page
Project collateral - pictures, testimonials, goals with funding showing progress towards raising money

Anthony asked about the J Salvador foundation which is also sponsoring st Martin de pores. Robert said at first, st Martin de porres donations of his org were being transferred to this grounp. Now, new funds were being ear marked for things like the childrens education.

Future meetings will discuss collateral about projects Robert wants to feature on the site and goals for growing the organization and how a website will help support that.
