Which project I worked on?
At first, I was teamed up with Cristina & Marc and worked on the Amihan Site with Ms. Tess. Sir Noel taught us some of the drupal basics but he has to leave earlier so Sir J continues the teaching. After lunch, Sir J asked Marc & Cristina do work on with the Amihan site’s theme and I had a one-on-one tutorial with him. He introduced me with the drupal modules and showed me how to edit a webpage directly from the web browser. Then after the tutorial, he asked me to work on the Asian Peasant Coalition (APC) with Ate Charlene.
What did I contribute?
I was able to apply some of what Sir J has taught me on improving the APC site. They already have the site working but Ate Charlene wanted to make some changes and some add-ons. Here’s the link to the site: http://www.collectivetech.org/apc/cms/. With the header, Ate Charlene wanted it to be red so I change it into red same with the slogan w/c I also changed into a bigger font and aligned it with the header. Then, I was able to change the “coverage” menu icon into “campaigns” menu icon and added menu items for the press releases and resources. It may look like just simple changes but for me, to be able to apply what I’ve learned, is something big considering that it’s my first time to experience drupal.
What specific Drupal skills did I learn/pick up?
I’ve learned a lot on how to use modules (CCK and Views), tweaking themes, add contents and content types and other drupal functions. Thanks to Sir Noel and Sir J. I really had fun and learned a lot.
