I found in my 2009 internship that my 3 mentor / speakers really worked out well.

In my case, my goal was to introduce my intern group to the subject matter of social network development, web page development, and e-commerce.

I had 3 speakers which I spread across the course of the internship. I didn't plan ahead of time. Instead, I was blessed to have through building contacts/relationships 3 Filipino friends who worked in the United States and worked on different aspects of the web economy. My first friend Aimee, worked in ad campaigns and search engine optimizations. My second friend Mike, was on the web design and layout side. My third friend, Joanna, was the CEO of a web design and development company so she spoke about the business end of things.

Speakers are an important part of your internship program. I'd encourage interns to ask questions and engage with the speakers. I was encouraged to see my interns trying to apply some of the things they learned in search engine optimization and design in the projects I put in front of them.
